South Croxton Wednesday Club
The Women's Institute meets every month, and speakers have told us about a wide variety of subjects, ranging from cookery and gardening to history and travel. In January we have often invited someone in the village to tell us about their job, and in the Summer months we have been on guided walks and visits to places of interest. In May we have always held our Birthday Party; when we usually visit a pub or restaurant. We also have a meal out after Christmas, and a theatre visit has often been arranged.
Our Institute is one of eight in the Robin-on-Tiptoe Group, and members from each village attend a spring meeting with a speaker, and an autumn social gathering. Since 1990 the group has held a carol service in one of the churches, and this is always an enjoyable occasion.

Previous meetings:
We go out to dinner twice a year, once in January, and once for the birthday party in May. Some members went to the Group Spring meeting in Billesdon, and to the Carol Service, also in Billesdon.
Next Meeting: WI meetings are normally held n the Village Hall at 7.30pm. on the third Thursday of each month, except for July.

The Wednesday Club is a Luncheon Club, meeting every other month, each member in turn choosing and booking the venue.

MADVW
(Melton and District VW Club)
I’d like to make the people of South Croxton aware of a local VW owners club I run. We are called MADVW. This translates to Melton and District VW Club. We meet from 6pm every first Monday of each month at The Red House in Nether Broughton. We also meet from 6pm every third Wednesday of each month at The Kings Head in Melton Mowbray. We welcome all people owning any VW be it air cooled, water cooled, old or new.
